As commissioner, he helped bring the 1988 Democratic National Convention and the 1996 Olympic Games to Atlanta and campaigned for government support of the arts. ![]() Lomax believes that there are still ways to enhance the fullest participation of minorities in all facets of American life.įor fifteen years, he worked both as an English professor at Atlanta area colleges, including Emory, and as the chair of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners.
